The Institute Liliana Dimitrova has among its objectives to provide the base scientist technique to the productive systems of vegetables, potatoes, grains, fibers, flowers and plants condimentosas.

For that the institution counts, with qualified human talent to execute the investigations applied in basic topics, with capacity and experience in improvement and resources fitogenéticos, transfers of technologies and technical attendance to producers, to adopting the strategic focus. 
The Institute is leader in the horticultural investigation and of fibers, in the country. 
The commitments are with the Cuban town, with the human talents of the institution, with the clients, the users and the partners, for the sustainable agricultural development of the country. 

This institute self-finances based on the projects and services that he/she offers, with which contributes to the sustainable development of the national and regional agriculture, through a model centered in the environment that he/she offers of form continuous knowledge scientist technicians and appropriate technologies that allow a qualitative change in the acting of its clients. 

It has institutionalized the System of Planning, Pursuit and Evaluation as well as the System of Managerial Information and it develops the management for derived projects of the demands of the MINAG and of the Institutional Strategic Plan. 

Their investigation develops it with a focus transdisciplinario and of work in team integrating the biotechnology studies, resistance and physiology with genetics, seminología and technology of the cultivations, with a strong commitment environmentalist. 
It has achieved the implementation of a system of the quality and of managerial and specialized training, what allows to have managers and competent technicians. 
He/she carries out the technological transfer of their achievements through an own mechanism that connects it with the System of Agrarian Extension of Cuba, to which supports with information, training and with seeds of high quality taken place in their agricultural areas. 
Their human talents participate in a systematic way in the technical attendance to the high management of the Ministry of the Agriculture for the design and analysis of productive chains, the determination of demands, the sostenibilidad incorporation to the technological models that are implemented and to other problems of outstanding interest for the Cuban agriculture.
